FRCOG work in Shelburne during 2005
- Staff assisted the Town in completing an Open Space & Recreation Plan.
- With the assistance of the Shelburne Natural Hazard Mitigation Committee, Staff completed a Local Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan Town to address hazards such as flooding and severe winter storms, including the creation of floodplain and other GIS mapping of critical facilities (e.g. schools, nursing homes, police and fire stations, and shelters).
- Staff worked on the Route 2 West Safety Study that includes Route 2 through the Town.
- Staff worked to advance projects along the Mohawk Trail Scenic Byway including the purchase of scenic easements, development of a marketing plan, and development of historic markers, vehicle turn-outs, and river access points.
- Staff worked with the Town to prepare the Town's Commonwealth Capital application and supporting materials.
- Staff prepared an application for a Smart Growth Technical Assistance Grant and secured $24,000 in funding for revisions to the Town's Zoning Bylaws and Subdivision Regulations.
- Staff prepared and secured a $5,000 Highland Communities Initiative Grant to assist with the revisions to the Town's Zoning Bylaws and Subdivision Regulations and to conduct public outreach.
- Staff secured a grant and began work on a Strategic Plan for Renewable Energy for the Pioneer Valley.
- Staff developed an emergency resource directory for first responders throughout Western Massachusetts.
- Staff updated state databases containing information on critical infrastructure and facilities in the region.
- Staff assisted in the development of a mutual aid agreement between the 101 towns of Western Massachusetts.
- Staff completed a pedestrian assessment survey and provided a map of the existing pedestrian facilities to the Town.
- Staff provided the Town with bicycle parking racks as part of Transportation Demand Management Program Share the Road in the Connecticut River Valley.
- Staff conducted two FRCOG requested traffic counts in support of its Regional Traffic Count Program.
- Staff fulfilled a data request for a Shelburne-based consultant.
- Staff completed the reporting requirements to maintain the Town's eligibility for the Economic Development Incentive Program through the Franklin County Economic Target Area.
