FRCOG work in Sunderland during 2005
- Staff worked with the Town to prepare the Town's Commonwealth Capital application and supporting materials.
- Staff provided technical assistance on Chapter 40B Comprehensive Permit regulations to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) and met with the ZBA to discuss its regulations for addressing Comprehensive Permit applications and to suggest possible changes.
- Staff worked to implement approved projects along the Connecticut River Scenic Farm Byway including the purchase of scenic easements, design and construction of streetscape improvements in Erving on Route 63 north of Millers Falls, and the development of Byway signs and a marketing website.
- Staff met with Town personnel and MassHighway to develop a scenic turnout on Route 47.
- Staff secured a grant and began work on a Strategic Plan for Renewable Energy for the Pioneer Valley.
- Staff developed an emergency resource directory for first responders throughout Western Massachusetts.
- Staff updated state databases containing information on critical infrastructure and facilities in the region.
- Staff assisted in the development of a mutual aid agreement between the 101 towns of Western Massachusetts.
- Staff completed a pedestrian assessment survey and provided a map of the existing pedestrian facilities to the Town.
- Staff provided the Town with bicycle parking racks as part of Transportation Demand Management Program Share the Road in the Connecticut River Valley.
- Staff provided extensive data collection, data analysis, and technical assistance to both the Select Board and MassHighway District 2 in the development of safety improvements for the Route 116 corridor by the 7-11 Plaza.
- Staff provided technical assistance to the Select Board and School Department related to traffic and parking issues at the Elementary School.
- Staff completed the reporting requirements to maintain the Town's eligibility for the Economic Development Incentive Program through the Franklin County Economic Target Area.
