TOWN OFFICIALS SIGN OFF PROCEDURE
ON-LINE PERMITTING
Dear Town Official--We understand that our new on-line permitting system will be a big change for everyone, and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Listed below are changes and instructions for you. Please read through this page and contact Jim Cerone at 772-2026, ext. 124 or jcerone@frcog.org with questions, comments, or request for training. Thank you
Changes to our permitting system:
- Our goal is to have all applications done on-line by July 1, 2011. Please discard all old paper applications in Town Halls before that day. If, for some reason, a resident or contractor is unable to apply online, please direct them to contact our office for help.
- Applicants no longer have to acquire signatures on the application prior to submitting the application.
- When the application is received at this office, the administrator will assign the appropriate sign-off requirements for the application.
- The permit will not be issued until all necessary sign-offs have been done.
- If a town official has been assigned to sign off on an application, he/she will receive an e-mail notification.
- The town official will log-on to the site, locate the application, and approve or disapprove and add comments.
- The following is a list of required sign-offs. If you believe there is an ommission or error please contact Chris Brothers at 772-2026, ext. 122 or e-mail her at chris@frcog.org:
- Tax collector or Town administrator--to assure taxes have been paid in Bernardston, Buckland, Charlemont, Conway, Shelburne, and Whately.
- Conservation Commission--whenever excavation is being done.
- Board of Health--For all applications(other than minor work) in Shutesbury. For all other towns, when a bedroom is being added or commercial work that needs BOH review.
- Fire Chief-whenever any fire-protection devices are required.
- Highway Department--for a new driveway
